People loving people

Kevin, Laura & their 3 daughters moved across the country from New York to San Diego in 2017 with a heart for serving the homeless community. Once their family arrived in San Diego they heard about a weekly dinner at Resolved Church for those experiencing homelessness.

On the first night Kevin attended, pizza was served to the 6 people in attendance. While serving that evening, the man hosting the dinner told Kevin that he & his family were moving out of San Diego. "Would you be up for taking over the dinner on Tuesdays?" he asked Kevin.

Kevin told Laura after his very first night serving, "If we're hosting, I think we should cook whatever we would eat."  3 years later, Kevin, Laura, their kids (& now many others!) are still hosting every week but the dinner that started as half a dozen people from San Diego's homeless community has grown to 150 - 200.  While the size of the dinner has changed, one thing that has remained the same is that dinner is always a home cooked meal.

Since 2017, thanks to the help of hundreds of compassionate families & individuals from the community, churches, & local businesses, We See You San Diego has served a hot home cooked dinner every Tuesday on a budget of zero. This dinner would not happen without people loving people. Generosity paired with warmth & kindness makes We See You’s weekly dinner a special time.

Our Mission

To welcome homeless neighbors in our community by cultivating a loving, safe, judgement-free environment where they are treated as our honored guests and served the very best we have to give.

Our Hospitality

To get to know our neighbors in the homeless community as we provide a place to sit, eat, and converse around a table with people who care about where they are, where they have been, and where they want to go.

Our Vision

To restore dignity, identity, and ultimately see people break free from addiction, homelessness, and life on the street.

Our Future

To be a constant and available presence in the community for those on the street, those looking to leave, and continuing to support those who have.
